STORM BODY FITNESS

13 lbs in six weeks

Trying to lose a bit of weight before a planned holiday in March I went on what I thought was a healthy diet after Xmas, after 5 weeks I hadn’t shed a pound!

Keith got me to do a food diary over 5 days and told me that I wasn’t eating enough calories so my body was in starvation mode and I would never lose weight that way.

He did out a healthy eating plan for me which I followed for the next six weeks and by the end of that period I had lost 13 lbs!! I was delighted and cant recommend him highly enough.

What YOU need to succeed

I would highly recommend Storm Fitness – it has brilliant facilities, a great atmosphere and Keith is such a professional. He has a great knowledge of weights and nutrition etc

It’s easy to see that he loves what he does so he is always there to give you the motivation you need to succeed. I had never lifted weights before starting in Storm 8 weeks ago…

I am now stronger, fitter, healthier and most importantly it has given me a great confidence boost.

The programmes are designed with such variation that each session is different so it never gets boring! Never thought I would enjoy going to the gym as much as I do now!

CHIARA LOST OVER 1 STONE IN BODY WEIGHT AND INCREASED HER OVERALL BODY STRENGTH BY 25%

I embarked on a training plan with Keith in Storm Body Fitness with the intention of loosing weight and keeping fit. I liked the idea of the personal training environment available in his gym coupled with a nutrition plan to suit my particular needs. Up to that point I had never used weights and had spent most of my time trying to loose weight and get fit through running.

Storm Body Fitness classes are a combination of weight training and strength and conditioning tailored to suit the individual depending on their goals with the added bonus of a detailed nutrition plan. The nutrition plan was constantly tweaked as the weeks went on in order to suit my changing goals.

THE RESULTS WERE CLEAR TO SEE:

I achieved fat loss and also become noticeably stronger without gaining excessive muscle. I also enjoyed the nutrition aspect and have to say I never felt hungry as long as I was prepared and had the right kind of nutrition to hand.

I would highly recommend Keith and Storm Body Fitness to anyone who is looking to achieve fat loss, increase fitness and strength and learn a lot about their body and nutrition along the way.

RICHARD HAS ALREADY LOST 10KG AND IMPROVED HIS QUALITY OF LIFE JUST HALFWAY THROUGH HIS 12 WEEK PLAN

A while back, I realised I had to address a problem. My stomach was huge and I knew this was not a good situation to be in. I work in an industry where I am exposed to information on heart attacks and the contributory factors, and having a large mass of visceral fat between my chest and pelvis was increasing my risk of having a really bad day, if you get my drift.

This had built up over years of stressful work, eating from garage forecourts and then when I got home tired, I would always go for the easy option. I wasn’t what I considered to be a junk food junkie, as I would often have something like a good helping of potatoes, maybe a slice of grilled salmon, and sure why not throw on a good portion of baked beans all washed down by a can of coke.

Other times I would just throw a pizza on, or treat myself for having reached Friday with a fresh cod and chips. Sitting in front of the TV would invariably involve another can of coke. This was all on top of the “healthy” cereal I had for breakfast, the muffin I would have at 11, the chicken baguette for lunch, the occasional bar of chocolate at 3:30 and the pint and a half of coffee consumed throughout the day.

This may not look particularly bad, but to be truthful, it wasn’t that uncommon for my eating to follow this pattern. I was also going through a pack of paracetamol every two weeks as I would often get a stinker of a headache that required tablets to swat it away. I put this down to stress and working long hours.

My exercise was pretty minimal – walking the dog at the weekends and running about with the guys on a Saturday morning – other than that, pretty much nothing as I’d be too tired coming home from work to manage anything other than the remote control.

I WAS IN A RUT AND I KNEW IT:

Six weeks ago, I contacted Keith at Storm Body Fitness and asked for help (men really aren’t good at asking for help) and he asked me to give him a food diary. It was only for three days and luckily for me, I was not eating too badly at this time, but I don’t think Keith was fooled. He came up with a nutrition plan for me and we weighed me in at 97.3 Kg. I don’t do weighing scales, so to me this was just an arbitrary number, but I knew it was too high. Keith also explained that I wouldn’t have to look at those scales again till he asked because he doesn’t as he says “health can’t be measured by weighing scales alone”.

I read the nutrition plan and my first thought was “He’s trying to kill me” – I thought the plan was for me to lose the fat, not eat it, and Keith explained to me the essential role of saturated fat in our diets. This was alien to me as I thought all fat was bad (hence the stock of flora in the fridge and the vegetable oil in the press). He suggested some reading material for me and boy did I learn some new and interesting stuff.

Incidentally, the only time I have eaten bread since, has been occasionally as part of my weekly cheat meal, and even then I can notice the effects pretty much immediately. Keith also explained the concept behind my training plan, and I thought to myself “20 minutes – that doesn’t sound too bad” – Its only when we did our first session that I realised, he really was trying to kill me (that last bit is a joke btw).

I NOW HAD A PLAN:

I cut out all processed food and I did my training twice to three times a week when possible. All of my food is freshly prepared along Keith’s guidelines (Did I ever mention how awesome having steak and eggs for breakfast actually is). I learnt to plan my meals ahead of time, and I learnt to actually look at what I am eating and make the good choice whenever possible. I carry a jar of nuts in the car and I don’t have any cravings for sweet things. In fact, I don’t get the mid morning / mid afternoon slumps anymore.

I can honestly say that I don’t even remember the last time I had a headache. I am also now waking up before the alarm clock and my overall energy levels are better. I don’t have the aching hips after running about that I used to (and to think I just put that down to getting older) I have even started eating foods that I would never have considered before, and they are actually quite tasty.

And one of the best things of all in the last few weeks NO Headaches, not one.

This all started 6 weeks ago, so I am half way through my initial 12 week program and as you can see, I have already noticed a considerable change in my quality of life. I have also managed to shed 10Kg in that time, and now usually wear a belt on my trousers, where I didn’t before. People are starting to notice my new shape (round is not an acceptable shape), and I am feeling a lot better about myself. I have also been able to identify areas that I want to improve, and look forward to working with Keith in attaining these new goals, as I now KNOW that I can do it.

Here’s to the next 6 weeks!
